The area, located just southeast of Edmonton, offers the kind of pastoral landscape expected, with rolling parkland, pristine lakes and fields of farmland. Wainright, home to a large military base, holds an annual four-day rodeo with the world's largest chuckwagon race. Camrose makes use of its expansive landscape with three golf courses and a large outdoor country music festival held at the end of July.
